Client Spotlight: Rebranding with Confidence
There’s something incredibly powerful about seeing yourself differently—in a good way. When one of my recent clients, a Los Angeles-based tech executive, decided it was time to update her brand, she knew a new headshot would be part of the story. What she didn’t expect was how much it would shift her confidence.
Meet Michelle: Executive, Thought Leader, Human
Michelle came to me looking for executive headshots in Los Angeles that felt elevated but still approachable. She had recently stepped into a more public-facing role, with regular speaking engagements and boardroom meetings on the calendar. Her old LinkedIn photo? A little stiff. A little outdated. Definitely not doing her new position justice.
She found me through a search for professional business headshots in Los Angeles, and after browsing my portfolio, she booked her session with the intention to rebrand without reinventing.
Wardrobe, Direction & a Little Magic
Michelle showed up with a few carefully chosen outfits (including the world’s most flattering navy blazer) and a healthy dose of nerves. Totally normal. We talked through what she wanted to convey—confidence, warmth, leadership—and I guided her through a mix of poses designed to show that exact energy.
We shot in my Los Angeles studio using soft, diffused studio light with natural fill from my south-facing windows. Clean, modern, flattering. No trendy filters. No outdoor distractions. Just her.
Before & After: A Shift in Presence
After viewing her proof gallery, Michelle selected three favorites and opted for light retouching—just enough to smooth shadows, brighten her eyes, and ease a bit of under-eye puffiness from travel. She later told me it was the first time in years she’d loved a photo of herself.
We didn’t change her face. We didn’t shape-shift her jawline. We just helped her show up the way she feels—prepared, capable, and ready for whatever comes next.
Real Results, Not Just Pretty Pixels
Since updating her headshots, Michelle’s had a feature in a major business publication, landed two new board seats, and told me her LinkedIn inbox has “never been busier.” That’s not magic—it’s strategy, trust, and a headshot that actually looks like her.
If you’re in a similar place—launching something new, rebranding your presence, or simply tired of hiding behind old images—take a cue from Michelle. Your future self (and your personal brand) will thank you.
